Interior Design Tips – Design It Yourself

When re-designing a room, garden or even your whole house hiring a professional designer can eat up a lot of the budget. If you only have a small starting budget and are quite confident then there is always the option of doing it yourself.

With various pieces of software available to consumers with tutorials and step by step guides you can design and plan your ideal room or even design your dream home. Most come with presets such as pre-designed floor plans and room layouts, you have the option of adding finishing accessories too, check out smartdraw.com and designsoftware.com for free downloads.

As always, design is an individual person’s taste and this can and does vary a lot. Providing this isn’t a renovation project with the idea to sell up when you are finished then follow through with your ideas, after all it is YOUR home, as long as you’re happy who cares if you have wall to wall leopard skin!

There are no real rules on how to design a room or a home as such, start with a simply idea and develop this as simple ideas are usually the most successful in the long term. The client, whether it’s you or someone else is the person that has to live with the design and style so this should be at the forefront of your mind. As we covered before, if you have strong tastes providing it’s your own home then by all means follow them but be warned not everyone may share the love for leopard print.

Accessories can be a great way to add personality to a room, bold styles coffee tables can make a statement and floor lamps, table lamps and touch lamp can help add a themed style to the room.

Finding The Right Spot To Fish The Surf

Finding the optimal spot to cast your reel can make the all the difference when surf fishing.  But finding that spot is one of the hardest aspects of fishing to nail down.  Water depth, tide, time of day and the list goes on are all possible factors to consider when picking the right spot to fish.  But, there is a few tips you can use to make the search a little easier.

Experience
First off, experience trumps all when finding the best spots, so learn from your mistakes, record or make a mental note of the spots you seem to have the most success.  As gain more experience and fish certain spots over and over, you will begin to see where the fish bite the most, at what times and tides, etc.  And make sure your maximizing your efforts in other areas of surf fishing such as choosing the right baits, having the proper equipment, which can be found here:

Charts
Charts can be a handy little tool.  Your local bait shop should have some for sale.  These will help whether you inshore fishing or offshore.

Ask Questions
While you’re at the bait shop, ask questions from the owner.  You can try asking the patrons but if they’re at the bait shop getting supplies to go out fishing they are probably not going to give up their best spots to you.  Just tell the shop owner you are new to the area  and would like to find some good fishing spots.  They tend to give the best advice because if you are successful at your fishing endeavors, then you will be back!

Due Diligence
Now that you’ve got your chart (and hopefully the owner marked down the good spots on it) take the time to study it. Look for deep fishing holes, find where the water will empty into the channel when the tide is low, etc.  Basically, eliminate all the spots that you don’t want to fish.

Tides
Before heading out to the waters, stop by the bait shop and ask what the tide is going to be for that day and what tides in the area are good to fish.

Soaking up as much info from locals as you can is the best way to find good spots to fish.  You can learn a lot from their many years of experience in a short amount of time.  Of course, if that doesn’t work, you could hire a guide.  Spend the money for a one time fishing trip and you will learn all the best places to fish in a single day. Good luck and happy fishing!

Pitching Your Products in a Recessive Economy

Finding ways to pitch your products during the recession just takes a little imagination! You can employ the use of banners, brochure holders or employee classes, to name a few. Any way you choose to do it, it is sure to help!

Brochure holders are a great idea for helping customers decide on a product. If a customer comes into your store and is looking to purchase something they have never purchased before, they are going to want to be able to take information home with them. This way, they can look it over and discuss it with their partner. More informed decisions make happy customers, and happy customers always come back!

Banners are the most eye-catching way to attract business. Maybe you are a travel agency and you are running a special on a trip to Aruba. A simple handwritten sign is going to be overshadowed quickly if the travel agency next door puts up a banner with pictures of a pristine blue ocean! You can make these banners in any size, color and font, with or without pictures. These can really be customized to meet your businesses specific needs.

Lastly, inform your employees of any changes to pricing you may have done and on any new products you are offering. Updating your employees at least on a weekly basis will cut down on the time it takes them to get correct information to a customer. Time-saving techniques are always appreciated by a busy customer!

Any way you choose to do it, these tips should help you to stay afloat during the economic crisis. Be fun and make your business noticeable by using bold colors and large signs. After all, return customers are what all business owners would like to develop!
